Elysia's nvelope is a dual-channel analog transient shaper that packs the power of three processors into a single box.
Utilizing custom-designed, high-quality electronics, the nvelope is a powerful and useful transient shaper, allowing for precise control over the envelope of a signal by shaping its attack and sustain levels. Born from the transient shaping technology invented by company founder Ruben Tilgner in the late '90s, elysia has improved upon this tech with an intuitive user interface and high-grade, discrete analog circuitry. By adjusting the attack, percussive sounds such as slapped bass, drums, or piano can either be tamed or accentuated, while the sustain adjustment allows for precise control over room sound and space; blend sounds into mixes more easily than ever. Full range mode delivers big drum sounds or edgy guitar attacks with just a few turns of a knob, while dual band mode offers a more granular approach with separate attack and sustain controls for multiple frequencies. When dynamics processing isn't necessary, the whole transient shaper can be bypassed to transform the nvelope into a dual-band shelving equalizer. Hand built and tested in Germany to exacting standards, the nvelope by elysia is a singular, top-notch processor that performs well beyond its price point.
Three Devices in One
Simple Interface, Endless PossibilitiesThe nvelope does away with the complex controls of typical compressors, making it easier to dial in the sound you are seeking. Three distinct operating modes provide great flexibility for several possible studio scenarios.
Full Range Mode
Full range mode allows you to get results with just a turn of the attack and sustain knobs, with the unit handling the rest.
Dual Band Mode
Dual band mode gives more detailed control by assigning the attack and sustain controls to individual frequency selectors.
EQ Mode
EQ mode lets you bypass the dynamics section entirely and use the unit as a two-band shelving equalizer.
Mixed Mode
When not being used in stereo link mode, the two individual processors can be used in parallel via mixed mode. Process two different signals simultaneously or feed the output of one processor into the input of the other for mixed EQ and dual band stages, with many more possible combinations.
Amazing Build Quality
With an extreme eye for detail, elysia has ensured that the nvelope is made to the highest build quality standards. Proudly engineered and made in Germany, elysia utilizes only custom-designed parts and every unit is handcrafted to order and tested in their headquarters in Nettetal, Germany.
Class-A Electronics
The nvelope features high-quality, Class-A topology for its discrete electronics resulting in minimal distortion and zero turn-on time. Every unit is rigorously tested and calibrated to the highest standard using in-house, computer-aided testing devices and custom tools.
User Friendly PowerAuto Gain
The nvelope features a novel and effective auto gain circuit that makes operating in full range mode hassle free. This circuit avoids distortion when boosting transients like the attack, automatically adjusting levels with the push of a button so you don't have to.
Intuitive ControlsThe nvelope features frequency control pots with 41-steps each, ensuring plenty of range for precise values and making it easy to recall settings.
Full Stereo Operation
With dedicated left and right inputs and outputs (with both XLR and 1/4" jacks), the unit is able to operate either as two mono processors or a true stereo device, making it as comfortable processing a single track as it is for an entire mix. Two extra 1/4" outputs are also offered for extra routing options.
elysia nvelope Two Channel Analog Transient Shaper
Discrete Class-A Topology
- Pristine audio quality. As a true elysia specialty, the audio path of the nvelope 500 is completely based on discrete circuitry and does not use any integrated circuits at all
Full Range Mode
- Fast & efficient envelope shaping. In Full Range mode, the attack and sustain intensity of a signal can be raised or reduced fast and efficiently with just two controllers
Dual Band Mode
- Enhanced frequency controls. This mode functions basically the same as Full Range, but it provides more tweakability by assigning the attack and sustain controls to individual frequency selectors
EQ Mode
- Alternative high/low shelf equalizer. The nvelope 500 can mutate into a two band equalizer with a high/low shelf characteristic, and even here the channel link for processing stereo material can be activated
Mixed Mode
- Two different processors at the same time. When Stereo Link mode is not active, the two individual channels can be used as completely different processors at the same time
Dual Mono/Stereo Link
- Flexible channel use and combination. For ultimate flexibility, the nvelope 500 offers true dual mono and linked stereo operation as well no matter if you are using it in Full Range, Dual Band or EQ mode
Auto Gain
- Eliminates level peaks and distortion. Should distortion or huge jumps in level occur as an unwanted side effect of the attack processing, the Auto Gain function will compensate and get the level right
Stepped Potentiometers
- The frequency potentiometers have 41 steps for an easy recall, while the gain pots have a center detent for finding their neutral position at once
