The Bose DesignMax DM6SE is a full-range, surface-mount, 70/100 volt loudspeaker designed for foreground and background music as well as speech reproduction in a wide range of installed applications such as restaurants, retail stores, houses of worship, performing arts venues and more. Each DM6SE speaker consists of a coaxially mounted 6.5" woofer and 1.25" neodymium tweeter in a compact, ported enclosure that can be surface-mounted vertically or horizontally, giving it a 140˚ x 140˚ coverage pattern and a frequency range that goes down to 59Hz. Both woofer and tweeter are weather-treated for outdoor use.
 
70/100 Volt
- The DM6E is rated for 100 watts RMS (400W peak) and can be used with both 70 and 100 volt systems. It also includes an 8Ω bypass mode, for use with "standard" amplifiers. An easy-to-change front-panel dial allows tap settings to be made without having to remove the speaker from its mount. Accessing the tap dial is done by simply un-snapping the front grille. The following tap settings are available:
- 70 V: 2.5W, 5W, 10W, 20W, 40W, and 80W
- 100 V: 5W, 10W, 20W, 40W, and 80W
- 8Ω: Bypass
 
Outdoor Use
- The DM6SE speakers are designed for both indoor and outdoor use and carry an IP55 weatherproof rating. They feature weather-treated drivers and aluminum grilles that can be painted to match the decor.
 
Shared Voicing
- Shared voicing across the entire product line allows Bose DesignMax loudspeakers to be integrated into the same system while maintaining consistent tonal quality.
 
Mounting
- The DM6SE speaker set includes wall-mount brackets that allow the speakers to be mounted horizontally or vertically. Each mounting bracket allows up to 45˚ of tilt or swivel, depending on how the speaker is aligned, with marked slots for 0˚, 15˚, 30˚, and 45˚. The grille-mounted Bose logos can be rotated to match the speaker orientation.
 
Connections
- The DM6SE speakers feature a 6-pin Euroblock (Phoenix) connector for attaching speaker wire. Each Euroblock terminal can accommodate wire from 18 AWG to 14 AWG and attaches to the back of the speaker. The Euroblock connectors also include a set of Output terminals for "daisy-chaining" multiple speakers. Rubber input-wiring covers are provided for maintaining the IP55 weatherproof rating.
